Charting an inspirational path for education.

The East Kent Colleges Group, evolving from Thanet College, is a distinguished collection of community-oriented colleges and training centres. Situated at the forefront of education in the region, the Group emerges as a champion of social and economic prosperity. Its mission is to drive the growth and development of future innovators through exceptional education.

Initially, the group worked with Fabrik to chart its transition from “Thanet College” into a family of academic innovators. As the organisation evolved, they commissioned our team once again, to distil their brand structure with a unified, cohesive framework and hierarchy.

The brief

Envisioning a brighter future for education.

When we first joined forces with the East Kent Colleges Group, they were still “Thanet College”, looking for a new name and identity to encapsulate their bright future. When the team returned to us, their vision remained consistent. They wanted to be seen as the “future of education” for an entire region, and a leader in academic success.

Now with a multitude of campuses and training centers to support, the evolving Group needed to clarify and enhance its image. They wanted to retain the distinct character of each of their resources, while still creating a cohesive experience for their community. We dove in to create the structure, voice, and visual identity of the institution.

Our input

Crafting a progressive, empowering brand identity.

Based on the Group’s vision and goals, we embrace a “branded house” approach, creating a simple, yet evocative logo to symbolise growth and progress. We introduced a palette of bold colours, allowing each entity to have its own secondary colour, tied to the sophisticated master shade of grey.

Building on the foundations of this visual identity, we created a range of launch materials, producing templates for emails, leaflets, signage, and clothing. We also refined the Group’s website, optimising user experience, and crafting the innovative “Explore your future” tool, to help students discover courses based on career aspirations and interests.

Our output

Creating a symbol of academic achievement.

Our secondary collaboration with the East Kent Colleges Group culminated in a comprehensive and cohesive suite of modern brand assets. We polished the institution’s visual identity, ensuring it could resonate with a new generation of students, as well as existing alumni. We also brought new structure to the brand, paving the way for consistent messaging and communication.

From signage to email templates, every element of the Group’s new brand kit was crafted to embody the professional, inspirational ethos of the organisation. Today, the East Kent Colleges Group benefits from an evocative identity, focused on putting the community, and its students first.
