TV streaming service logos: The world’s most popular streaming services and their logos

Streaming Service Logos

Over the 21st century, the world has rapidly moved away from tuning in at a specific time each evening to watch TV. Now, you’ll find a huge range of TV streaming platforms allowing you to watch your favorite shows whenever possible. And with that, you will find several recognizable streaming service logos.

While Netflix is still one of the big hitters in this field, it’s not alone. Apple has delved into the streaming space and enjoyed a degree of success, which includes live streaming deals. You’ll almost certainly have heard of Prime Video, which is an extension of Amazon’s eCommerce empire.

Other famous streaming brands include HBO, Disney+, and Hulu. And alongside those, you will also find a wide selection of platforms that aren’t as famous – but still offer value to their audiences.

This article will show you a selection of the top TV streaming channels and their logos. You’ll learn a little about each company and more about their logos. Without further ado, let’s get started.

An introduction to the most famous TV streaming brand logos

Before we look at some of the biggest masterpieces in streaming service logo design, let’s discuss the thought process behind creating a good logo. While many streaming services offer similar services, each has unique values. And when choosing a logo, these must shine through.

Considering the competitive TV streaming services market, having a logo that stands out is also crucial. We’ll talk more about Netflix soon, but you’ll notice that the red they use is striking and instantly recognizable.

And, of course, you’ll see many streaming services use the original company’s logo with some adaptation.

When compiling this list of streaming platform logos, we sought to include a wide range – including those you’ll know and others that are more obscure. When choosing the most obscure ones, we sought to pick ones that we think you’d find particularly interesting.

As we have discussed the basics, we think you’re ready to move on and discover the top streaming service logos. And so, with that in mind, let’s move on and start looking at them.

Streaming Service Logos

Netflix

Netflix is arguably the king of the TV streaming service space. The company began in 1997 when Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph, both of whom previously worked together at the same company, started by offering a service where users could rent movies.

Over time, Netflix grew more successful and saw the online space as an opportunity for long-term growth. The transition to online streaming was a slow process, but identifying the chance for success here has paid off dramatically in the long run.

The company now has a valuation worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

Netflix arguably has the most famous streaming service logo in the world. It features the company’s name in red writing, and you’ll also find another with the first letter in red. Both are on simple backgrounds; the full name is on a white background, and the first letter features on a black one.

From 2000 to 2014, Netflix’s logo featured white writing with a black outline. These were on a red background. The first Netflix logo is pretty much non-recognizable compared to the current one; it featured a color palette of black and purple with a white background.

Streaming Service Logos

HBO Max

HBO is another of the easiest TV streaming service logos to recognize. The platform continues the hugely successful American TV network HBO, which stands for Home Box Office. HBO Max is one of the newest streaming services; it launched in May 2020.

HBO Max’s launch amid the COVID-19 pandemic was not intentional; the service was initially planned for a 2019 introduction to the market. Better late than never, though; the platform has attracted over 75 million paying subscribers in its relatively short existence.

The HBO Max logo features the normal HBO icon that you’ve seen before. It has the word “max” – all of which is in lower-case writing. The “max” section features a color palette with different shades of purple, and it has what we can best describe as a shining effect.

The current HBO Max logo isn’t the first iteration, however. Before the service launched, it had different shades of blue, purple, and red. Moreover, the HBO logo was smaller and featured on a different line than the word “max.”

Streaming Service Logos

Apple TV Plus

Apple arguably has the most recognizable logo in the entire tech space and is remarkably simple. The company has enjoyed success in multiple consumer gadgets areas, such as its iPhone and the MacBook.

And if you want to enjoy streaming services on your Apple device, you may wish to consider Apple TV Plus

Like HBO Max, Apple TV Plus is relatively young.

The service launched in November 2019, and it’s now available in multiple countries around the world. Although it doesn’t have the numbers of other services like Disney+ (more on them soon) and Netflix, over 30 million people have a subscription to Apple TV Plus.

Apple TV Plus includes the iconic Apple logo alongside “tv+” in lower-case writing next to it. The writing is in the same font as on other parts of Apple’s website, such as its product pages and newsroom articles. The Apple TV Plus logo is on a transparent background.

Streaming Service Logos

Disney+

Fewer companies can claim to have made as huge of an impact on the entertainment industry as Disney. For years, we’ve become accustomed to its classic original titles – such as Mickey Mouse, the Lion King, and Mulan.

Unsurprisingly, the company moved into the streaming space, and Disney+ launched in November 2019.

On Disney+, you’ll find several movies you’ll probably have watched over your childhood.

You’ve also got access to multiple popular TV shows, such as The Simpsons. The service is available in most of Europe and the Americas at the time of writing in February 2023, along with a selection of countries elsewhere on the planet.

The Disney+ logo is pretty straightforward. It features the standard Disney logo and a plus icon at the end. You’ll also notice that the arch on top of the Disney logo stretches to the “+” when you visit the Disney+ website or go onto the app.

As of February 2023, Disney+ has only had one logo – the current one it still uses. Since Disney’s icon has been as it is since 1956, it’s unlikely that this will change at any point soon.

Streaming Service Logos

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is the TV streaming service for Amazon and has been around since 2006. The platform has evolved significantly over recent years and has over 200 million users.

Prime Video is available in many countries worldwide, and prices differ depending on where you live. You’ll find a wide selection of programs, including originals such as the All or Nothing documentary series – which follows multiple sports teams worldwide.

The Amazon Prime Video logo features the same arrow you’re probably used to seeing on other Amazon logos elsewhere. Essentially, it’s the Amazon Prime logo with “video” added to the end. Whereas Prime and the arrow feature a light blue color, the word “video” is written in black.

Streaming Service Logos

YouTube TV

While Netflix was an early adopter of streaming services, it takes time to look past a company that has evolved in this space as much as YouTube. The company originally launched in February 2005, and to say that it has taken the world by storm since then would be an understatement.

YouTube continues to be a success, with over 2.5 billion monthly active users across the globe. But in recent years, it has branched out.

YouTube Music is one exception, and YouTube TV is another. YouTube TV launched in 2017, and you can watch several popular channels with the service – including ESPN, Food Network, and Nickelodeon.

At the time of writing, YouTube TV is only available in the US. You can, however, potentially watch channels with this service elsewhere – and we’ll show you how to later in this article.

The YouTube TV logo is pretty simple. It features the classic YouTube play button and writing in black; the only difference is that “TV” is added to the end of it.

Streaming Service Logos

Hulu

Hulu is another popular addition to our list of streaming service logos, and the company initially launched in 2007. Today, Hulu has over 45 million subscribers and is primarily owned by the Walt Disney Company; it operates in the US and Japan.

When using Hulu, you can stream a wide selection of programs and movies. Examples of what you can watch on the platform include Rick and Morty, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. You can also get ESPN+ (more on that soon) Disney+ as part of your subscription if you choose a specific plan allowing this.

The Hulu logo has changed multiple times, but the font has remained largely the same. The main difference has been that the shade of green has become lighter and more luminous; the current iteration has been used since 2018.

Before the current Hulu logo version, the third version was only used for one year. The first Hulu logo was its main one from 2007 until 2014, with the next iteration lasting from 2014 to 2017.

Streaming Service Logos

Sky

Sky is the most popular TV service in the UK and has the bulk of the popular packages and shows in the country. You will also find Sky in Italy and Germany – plus other nations further afield.

And although you can still watch the likes of Sky News and Sky Sports on your TV, the company has had a streaming service for a while.

The Sky logo has changed multiple times over the years, but it has kept a couple of critical characteristics – namely, the wording.

The current version has been around since 2020, showcasing a color palette of purple, orange, and various shades of pink. Each color works in a consistent passage from one to the other.

Before the current version of the Sky logo, you could see that Sky had the same fonts – but the colors were different. Over the years, the company has experimented with different fonts and shapes; some older versions had swishes, while others featured the writing inside an oval.

Streaming Service Logos

Nebula

Nebula is a streaming platform that was created by a group of YouTubers, including Ali Abdaal. The service prides itself on having creators operate it, along with being owned by people who make independent content.

You will find multiple forms of videos on Nebula, including classes to help you get better at different skills.

The Nebula logo features simple typography, with each word in capital letters and well-spaced out. Alongside that, it also has a star at the beginning.

Streaming Service Logos

Tubi

Another of the most popular streaming brands around is Tubi. The service is pretty successful in the Americas, and over 50 million people use it in its global territories. The platform is available in North America and most of South America; you can also use it if you’re in Australia or New Zealand.

Although Tubi wasn’t available in Europe at the beginning of February 2023, a launch within many markets here is planned in due course. The service was originally launched in 2014, and since 2020, it has been owned by Fox Corporation.

Tubi allows you to watch movies and TV shows for free, primarily funded by advertising. You can stream as much as you want and choose from multiple genres. Its logo is pretty simple, featuring a relatively wide font. The writing is all in black, and the letters are lowercase.

Streaming Service Logos

Peacock

Peacock has rapidly grown as a streaming service since it originally launched in July 2020. The platform has around 20 million subscribers, and you can watch a wide variety of content on the platform. These include Downton Abbey and Saved by the Bell.

At the time of writing in February 2023, Peacock is available in the US and a selection of European countries – namely Switzerland, Austria, the UK, Germany, and Italy. The service has said that it’s planning to expand elsewhere, but these are its core markets for the time being.

The Peacock logo is pretty simple, with the wording all in lowercase. As you might expect, you’ll also find a bit of color toward the end of it. The logo features different shades of yellow, orange, red, blue, aqua, and green. These circles go from top to bottom.

Streaming Service Logos

Pluto TV

Pluto TV is another streaming service logo that’s well worth looking at if you’re thinking about forming your own company. It’s striking and simple in equal measure, and it’s hard not to admire the color schemes. The service launched in 2013 and is currently headquartered in Los Angeles and Berlin.

Pluto has a significant user base, with 72 million monthly active users going to the platform for content. You can stream a wide selection of programs and movies and watch shows as and when they’re broadcasted.

When watching content on Pluto, you can also browse within multiple different categories. Examples include crime programs and sci-fi.

The logo for Pluto TV features the word “pluto” in lowercase writing, and the “tv” section is smaller than this. You will notice multiple complementary colors, namely yellow, orange, magenta, and purple. The “tv” part of the logo is in a black circle.

Streaming Service Logos

Curiosity Stream

Documentaries are an excellent way to combine learning with entertainment, and they’ve been a staple in the TV space for decades. And like ordinary programs and movies, they’ve found their way into the online space.

Curiosity Stream is one of the best places to find interesting documentaries that cover multiple topics.

Curiosity Stream is available in English and German, and the company was founded in 2015. It’s started gaining significant traction in recent years, and it now has 20 million subscribers within the markets in which it operates.

Curiosity Stream offers subscription services in both standard HD and 4K so that you can choose the best option. The logo is in the same font and color for each letter, except for the “Y” at the end. This is yellow instead and has a dot beneath the upper part of the letter.

The other letters in Curiosity Stream differ between white and black, depending on the background that they’re on.

Streaming Service Logos

ESPN+

ESPN is the biggest sports broadcasting network in the US, and you can watch multiple sports on the platform. Examples include NFL, NBA, and MLB.

The network has also expanded to other parts of the world, including the UK. ESPN+ is the streaming service for ESPN, but it’s only available within the US. If you’re in Europe, you can use ESPN Player.

ESPN+ allows subscribers to catch up with the latest sporting events and watch the big games as and when they happen. It’s available on multiple devices, and the service was initially launched in 2018. Since then, it has attracted more than 20 million subscribers.

The ESPN+ logo is pretty simple and doesn’t derive too far from the ordinary ESPN icon. The main difference is that it has a plus symbol on the bottom and that the plus is in a gold shade.

Streaming Service Logos

BBC iPlayer

BBC iPlayer has been part of the UK entertainment ecosystem for a while now, and it’s free for residents in the country. The service features the main programs from the BBC’s various channels, and you can watch content from other parts of the British Isles – including Wales and Scotland.

iPlayer features content for a limited period, including popular programs like Match of the Day. The logo recently underwent a significant change with its rebranding in 2022, which dropped the BBC logo for the first time.

Today, iPlayer features different shades of pink and an icon that resembles a play button. Before that, iPlayer had the BBC logo and the play logo incorporated with the letter “I.” There was a slight change between 2020 and 2021 when the logo was all pink.

Before 2020, BBC iPlayer’s logo featured a black and white BBC icon – with the rest in pink.

Streaming Service Logos

Paramount Plus

Paramount is one of the most recognizable names in the film industry, and it has also delved into the online streaming services space. You might have previously heard of the service under its old name: CBS All Access. It carried that from 2014 until 2021, when it rebranded as Paramount Plus.

In Australia, Paramount Plus was known as 10 All Access. But in 2021, it received a new name as well. You can use the platform in multiple countries, including the US, Austria, the German-speaking part of Switzerland, and many more. In some countries, the service is under a different name.

Paramount Plus has a relatively easy logo to understand. It features the typography that you’ll recognize from Paramount’s main logo, and some versions also include the mountain and stars that also feature.

Streaming Service Logos

Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon is perhaps one of the most iconic television companies of all time. It introduced the world to the concept of a cable channel designed entirely for children. First launched in 1979, Nickelodeon inspired countless follow-up companies to produce family-friendly content.

Although the Nickelodeon company doesn’t have its own dedicated streaming service yet, the channel is available on a variety of other streaming platforms. Consumers can watch Nickelodeon on Hulu, Fubo, YouTube TV, and even Apple TV.

Nickelodeon’s iconic logo has changed a number of times over the decades. The first logo featured the company’s name and included a detailed image of a man peering over the top of a Nickelodeon banner.

The memorable logo used by the brand today was introduced in 2023. It features a custom orange font, in all lowercase letters, with a unique “I” designed to look a little like the simplified image of a child. The image is surrounded by a dynamic, curved shape, often referred to as the Nickelodeon “splat”.

Find out more about the Nickelodeon logo here.

How to watch your favorite streaming services from anywhere

As you might have already noticed, many streaming services only operate within specific markets.

Most of the time, this is due to licensing issues. However, you might be able to watch some streaming platforms in other parts of the world – along with streaming any content that isn’t available in your region.

The best way to do this is through a virtual private network (VPN). You can connect to a server in the country for which you’d like to watch content before signing in and doing that. Note that some services might require you to be a resident, which can be tricky.

Using a VPN also allows you to keep your identity anonymous online, which is ideal for protecting yourself against trackers and other things you might not want knowing what you’re doing.

NordVPN is arguably the best VPN, but you can also use the likes of ExpressVPN and SurfShark.

All the best streaming service logos in one place

Streaming service logos vary significantly, and each has a unique story.

Often, logos need to rebrand as time progresses, and companies wish to portray their values better. The likes of Netflix and Disney+ are well-known to many people around the world, but you’ll find other networks doing well – such as Pluto TV and Tubi.

Choosing a streaming platform logo requires a lot of effort, and you must consider capturing your target audience’s attention. In reality, this isn’t too different from typical company logos in other industries – and you can take a lot of inspiration from what we’ve included in this article.

If you’re curious to learn more about the most complex logos on the planet, we’ve also got an article dedicated to that.
