Overview
Lewisham College’s employer training team was originally known as the Business Development Unit. It worked with blue-chip organisations to provide bespoke business training solutions, specialising in care, construction, catering, business administration, management and IT. However, the name placed too much emphasis on the College – which conjured up an image of further education rather than business – and lacked the inspiration required to engage private enterprises
Outcome
Our NameBrains team provided the inspiration behind The Skills People brand, which is consistently supported by the statement ‘Inspiration That Counts’. By creating a standalone company name and brand, we have provided The Skills People with a unique personality and visual identity, which can also draw on the vast knowledge base and reputation of Lewisham College.
What we did
- Stakeholder interviews
- Online questionnaires
- Workshops & focus groups
- Positioning & creative brief
- Company naming & branding
- Visual & verbal identity
- Application guidelines
Kind Words
At first, some people were sceptical, but they soon got behind the project thanks to the insight provided by Fabrik. Now I can confidently say that we have a brand identity that does justice to our employee training services and the investment is already paying off.
