He’s a specialist in competitor analysis, marketing strategy, and new business development – the work that happens before the creative work begins. Understanding what a prospective client needs, where they sit in their market, and how Fabrik can help them get somewhere better.
He also maps the sectors Fabrik targets, bringing deep knowledge of the industries where the agency operates. From technology and software to pharmaceuticals, life sciences, education, and well-funded startups.
Gilles brings serious pedigree. His career spans leading global agencies including Wolff Olins and Design Bridge, where he worked with some of the world’s most recognisable brands. He’s also the founder of Cyrano New York, his own consultancy. That breadth of experience – agency-side and independent, strategic and commercial – informs how he approaches every conversation.
Originally from Paris, Gilles spent many years in London, where he first connected with Fabrik more than two decades ago. He’s now based in New York, bringing a perspective that blends European creativity with the pace and expectations of the US market.
He contributes regularly to Brand Fabrik, writing on business development, brand strategy, and the industries where Fabrik operates. Exploring what it takes to build brands that last.
Outside work, Gilles is a jazz saxophonist and photographer. Drawn to the way both disciplines capture moments and tell stories. You’ll find him fuelled by impossibly strong coffee, and if you’re in Manhattan, possibly weaving through traffic on his Vespa.
